Alfred Gene Orton

A visitation for family and friends for Alfred will be held Monday, December 11, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary - Phenix City, 3770 Highway 431 North, Phenix City, Alabama 36867. A celebration of life funeral service will occur Monday, December 11, 2023 at 9:30 AM, 3770 Highway 431 North, Phenix City, Alabama 36867. A burial with military honors will follow at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery, 553 Hwy 165, Fort Mitchell, Alabama.

Mr. Orton was born November 3, 1935 in Grant County, South Dakota; son of the late Andrew Simon and Via Mae Rogers Orton. He was retired from the U.S. Army.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by many brothers and sisters.

Survivors include his children, Allen Rogers, Cynthia Pursley both of Columbus, GA, Mike Tyler (Monica) of Texas, sister, Clara Palomaki, grandchildren, Shawn, Rickey, Brooklyn, William, Savannah, Ashley, Charles, Carol Ann, Justin, Dixie Jo, Lakeitha, Othello, Kyle and his great grandchildren, Dean, Takeanna, Brandon, Lillian, Kaydon, McKenzie, Ansley and Harmony.
