Benny R. Parish, 79 of Phenix City, Alabama died Friday May 13, 2016 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 17, 2016 in Lakewood Hall at Striffler-Hamby in Phenix City, AL with Rev. Emory Evans officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 P.m. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Mr. Parish was born October 6, 1936 in Brundidge, Alabama; son of the late James D. and Nancy Evelyn Parish. He was retired from Fieldcrest Mill and attended Faith Temple Assembly of God Church. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rubie Ellen Parish.
Survivors include his sons, Richard Sullivan and wife Sandy, of TN, Marty Simpler and wife Sissy of Phenix City, AL, Allan Simpler and wife Leigh of Smiths, AL, daughters, Denell Peeler and husband Curtis, Nancy Dunnivan and husband Gary all of Phenix City, AL; brothers, Jackie Parish and wife Joan, Buddy Parish and wife Ila, sister, Louella Grimes and husband Royce all of Phenix City, AL, ten grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
