Brenda Gail Wade

Funeral services are scheduled at Lakewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby, Phenix City, Alabama on Friday, January 23, 2015, 11 a.m. with Reverend Bob Hawkins officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery, Fort Mitchell, Alabama. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, January 22, 2015 from 4-6 p.m.

Mrs. Wade, daughter of the late Adolph Nelson and Majorie Calloway Nelson, was born June 9, 1942 at Fort Benning, Georgia. She was a homemaker , member of Cascade Hills Church, and actively involved with the South Columbus Senior Center.

Mrs. Wade was preceded in death by her husband, LTC (Ret) Bobby Merrell Wade, and a brother Donny Nelson. She is survived by one daughter, Melanie Mullins and her husband Bennie of Claremore, Oklahoma; one son, Bruce Wade of Marietta, Georgia; one sister, Vicki Nelson of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; one brother, Kenny Nelson and his wife Charlotte of Birmingham, Alabama; four grandchildren, Bennie Mullins III, Tabitha Mullins, Joshua Mullins, and Rachel Dionne; other relatives and friends.
