Carrie Opal Spahos

Carrie Opal Spahos, age 83, of Phenix City, Alabama passed away on Saturday, December 25, 2021 at her home. Graveside funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at Lakeview Memory Gardens with Rev. Barry Danner officiating, according to Striffler-Hamby in Phenix City, AL. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 11:00 AM until 12:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Spahos was born December 29, 1937 in Barbour County Alabama; daughter of the late Talmadge and Grace Benefield Spivey. She was a homemaker and had worked for Ladonia School for some time, was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Phenix City. She gave her life to her Lord and Savior at the age of 13.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Tracy Spahos, sons, Dennis Spahos, Andy Spahos, brother, Charles Spivey and sister, Selene Caraway.

Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Hercules G. Spahos, Jr., daughter, Wendy Spahos Durham of Phenix City, AL, granddaughter, Amber Browder (Daniel) of McKenzie, AL, grandson, Corey Durham (fiancé, Jayme Gaff), great grandchildren, Ariana and Dayman Browder, Tinley and Huxton Durham, Ariel, Skylar and Emmy Gregory.
