Charles Wesley Kent, 90 of Columbus, Georgia passed away Monday, October 17, 2016 at his home. Funeral services with military honors will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, October 21, 2016 in Lakewood Hall at Striffler-Hamby, Phenix City, AL. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Mr. Kent was born June 30, 1926 in Griffin, Georgia; son of the late John Wesley and Lottie Mae Gilleon Kent. He served in the U.S. Navy and Air Force during WWII and the Korean conflict, later retired from Civil Service at Fort Benning, GA.
Survivors include his daughter, Jennifer Kent Stewart (Allen) of Phenix City, AL, step-son, Johnnie Mack Windham (Chrysta) of Monroe, GA, granddaughter, Cristine S. Colantonio of Phenix City, Al, two grandchildren, Christopher Jonathan Colantonio, Cameron Tyler Colantonio, several nieces and nephews.
