David Marion Slocumb Sr., age 67, of Lagrange, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2022. David was born May 12, 1955 in Phenix City, Alabama. He was a registered nurse with WellStar West Georgia Medical Center in Lagrange where he worked over time in his career in the ER, Surgery and Pediatrics Units. He is known by his peers as taking great pride in his work and was a very compassionate and caring nurse. Later in his life he loved watching his granddaughters play softball and always loved Alabama Football.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lucy Edwards, his father, Walter Eugene Slocumb and his brothers, Walter and Joel Slocumb.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, David Slocumb, Jr. and Tamara Farmer Slocumb, brother, Donnie Slocumb, granddaughters, Olivia, Karrington and Peyton Slocumb and his long time companion, Teresa Thaxton.
A visitation for family and friends for David will be held Monday, June 13, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 3770 Highway 431 North, Phenix City, Alabama 36867. Following the visitation for family and friends will be a celebration of life graveside service at 2:00 PM at Lakeview Memory Gardens, Phenix City, AL.
