Mrs. Docia Anne Helms, 85 of Phenix City, Alabama passed away on Friday, December 25, 2020 at her home. She was born on July 20, 1935 to the late Kittie Ruth Myrick Jones and William Penn Jones. Anne was a lifelong resident of Phenix City she was a 1953 graduate from Central High School. She was married to the late James Maurice Helms in 1955. Anne worked at Gunter Insurance Agency, but her most prized position she held was as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was Christian by faith and loved our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Anne was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church of Phenix City, Alabama.
Anne was known for her good work ethics, whether it was at her job or at her home. She was a hard worker no matter the job she tackled. She loved her family and was committed to her family 110 percent. She enjoyed cooking, genealogy, her family’s history, and going to church.
She is survived by her daughter, Kittie (Billy) Johnston; son, Jim Helms (Bob Silverman); granddaughter, Amber (Matthew) Martin; niece, Deborah (Randy) Stahl; great grandsons: Tyler, Huddy, and Bo Martin. Mrs. Docia was preceded in death by her parents, Kittie and William Jones; her husband, James Helms; sister, Lillian Cook; and niece, Jeanine Carroll.
Her family will have a private graveside service in Lakeview Memory Gardens on Tuesday, December 29, 2020.
