Donald E. Herder

Donald E. Herder, 74, of Phenix City, Alabama passed away Sunday, March 8, 2020 at the Columbus Hospice House. A Graveside Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, March 13, 2020 in the mausoleum of Lakeview Memory Gardens in Phenix City, AL with Rev. Sammy Turner officiating. Striffler-Hamby in Phenix City is in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Herder was born October 18, 1945 in Cleveland, Ohio, son of the late Albert and Martha Kollm Herder. He was retired after 20 years of service in the U.S. Army, and was previously employed with Canterbury Nursing Home in Phenix City. He was Lutheran by faith.

Survivors include his wife, Myra T. Herder; step-children, Lynn Hukowski (Mike), Michael Goss (Millie), and Brent Goss (Mike); sister, Susan Josephson (Gary); brother, Kenneth Herder (Linda); grandchildren, Sofie Hukowski, Joey Hukowski, Nick Hukowski, Brian Abreu and Dalton Hukowski.
