SFC (Ret) Donald Wayne Varner, 64 of Griffin, Georgia died Saturday, August 12, 2017. Graveside funeral services with military honors will be held Thursday August 17, 2017 at 2:30pm EDT at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00pm until 2:00pm at Striffler-Hamby in Phenix City, AL.
Mr. Varner was born March 6, 1953 in Laurel, Mississippi; son of the late Hugh Hamilton Varner and Gladys Maxcey Varner. He was retired from the U.S. Army and retired from civil service as a federal agent with more than 30 years of service.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Glayline Ann Varner, daughter, Jennifer Paige Eberly (Matthew), granddaughter, Lauren Katherine Eberly, brother, Hugh Varner (Ruth), many nieces, nephews and cousins.
