Doug was born in Hedgesville, West Virginia on July 31, 1922 to parents Love and Cora Mae DeHaven. After graduating from Martinsburg High School, he attended Central Bible Institute in Springfield, Missouri before residing in the Columbus, Georgia area for the remaining 72 years of his life.
Doug was preceded in death by his parents and wife of 23 years, Ruby Burns DeHaven. Survivors include: sister Margaret Jane Patterson (Samuel), Son Ricky DeHaven (Cindy) & daughter Gloria DeHaven Bean (John), step daughter Pat Kratz (Dan), 7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren,1 great great granddaughter, and several nieces and nephews.
Doug was a store manager for Sears and a small business owner before retiring from J C Penny. Doug had many friends and loved to go dancing.
The family suggest that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to Columbus Hospice.
