Ms. Tillman was born October 25, 1948, in Columbus, GA the daughter of the late Ralph Douglas Smith and Mary Welch Smith.
A devoted educator, Ms. Tillman, dedicated more than 40 years to teaching generations of students at Glenwood School. Beyond her classroom influence, she also served as a sponsor of numerous clubs and academic honor societies and helped planned and organized countless school events. It would be impossible to summarize Ms. Tillman’s impact and influence into simple words, but her legacy lives on in the lives of her students and their families.
Ms. Tillman was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grand mother, sister and aunt. She is survived by her sons Todd (Stacy) and Drew (Jaime); her sister Kathy (Bill); her grandchildren, Devan (Austin), Caden, Mac, and Abigail; her great grandson, Rowe; her niece and nephews, Amy (Chuck), Mark (Amy), Michael (Reagan), and Patrick (Kelly); and her beloved great-nieces and great-nephews.
Visitation will be held Friday, September 26 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary in Phenix City.
