Gary D. "Cookie" Rutledge, 62, of Phenix City, Alabama, passed away Thursday July 26, 2012 in Phenix City. Graveside funeral services with military honors will be 2:00pm Monday EST July 30th at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell, AL. with the Reverend Emory Evans officiating, according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 3770 Highway 431 N, Phenix City, Alabama, 36867. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 3pm until 5pm at the funeral home. The funeral procession will depart Striffler-Hamby Mortuary promptly at 1:30pm Monday.
Mr. Rutledge was born August 31, 1949 in Ft. Benning, Georgia. He was an electrician in the textile industry and served his country honorably in the U.S. Army . He was a member of the Faith Temple Assembly of God Church in Phenix City. Mr. Rutledge is preceded in death by his mother Mrs. Jerry Henderson.
