

Gladys Faye Rogers, 75, of Smiths Station, Alabama, passed away Monday December 3, 2012 at her home. The funeral mass will be said at 2:00pm EST Thursday December 6th at Holy Family Catholic Church in Columbus, GA. with Father Frank Patterson as the celebrant. Interment will be in Parkhill Cemetery with the grandsons serving as pallbearers, according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 3770 HWY 431 N, Phenix City, Alabama, 36867. The rosary will be said at 6:00 PM Wednesday December 5th at the funeral home with visitation continuing until 8:00pm.
Mrs. Rogers was born September 29, 1937 in Columbus, Georgia, daughter of the late Clarence Melvin Taylor and Emily L. Holland Taylor. She was a homemaker and member of Holy Family Catholic Church. Mrs. Rogers was formerly employed at Columbus Hospice. She was also a “Dye Hard” Auburn fan.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, John W. Rogers of Smiths Station, daughters, Karen Rogers Anspaugh and husband, Jim of Smiths Station, June Rogers Johnson and husband, Dale of Columbus, sons, Tim Rogers of Phenix City , John M. Rogers of Woodstock, GA., brother, Jerry L. Taylor and wife, Sandy of Ellaville, GA., aunt, Gwen Taylor Ward of Columbus, nephew, Lance Taylor of Franklin, GA., 9 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
