

Jacob C. Perdue, Jr. 93 of Phenix City, AL died Thursday, August 24, 2017 at his home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 4:00 P.M. at First United Methodist Church in Phenix City, AL with Rev. Ralph Wooten and Rev. Grant Parker officiating. Serving as pall bearers will be Bill Perdue, George Perdue, Charles McManus, Jared Esco and John McManus. A private burial will be Monday at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday from 2:00pm until 4:00pm in the fellowship hall at the church. Honorary Pall bearers are the Friendship Class and the Seekers Class from First United Methodist Church.
Mr. Perdue was born June 6, 1924 in Selma, Alabama; son of the late Jacob C. Perdue, Sr. and Jimmie Gray Perdue. He was a WWII Veteran and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Phenix City, AL. He graduated from the University of Alabama in 1956 with a law degree and was a member of the Gideons International.
Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Matred Jones Perdue, his daughters, Deborah P. Holmes (Fred), Wendy P. Esco, Valerie P. Graham (Stanley), Rebecca P. McManus (Charles); brothers, Bill Perdue, George Perdue (Kathy), sisters, Faye Kirkland, Alice Irving; grandchildren, Jared Esco, Ann Marie Alton (Tim), John McManus (Randi), Jeff Holmes (Rachael), Leslie Gilbert (Justin), eight great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
