James "Cooter" Dale Amerson

in Newnan, Georgia.

James was born in Phenix City, Alabama; son of the late James B. and Helen Marie Minor Amerson. He was retired after 28 years of service in the maintenance department with MeadWestvaco.

He enjoyed cooking and spending time with his family, most especially his sister, Wendy.

Survivors include his sisters, Wendy Amerson Ogle, Myra Amerson Durrance (Gene), Bonnie Amerson Ferrell (Chuck) along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

A Visitation for family and friends will be held Monday, April 7, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary - Phenix City, 3770 Highway 431 North, Phenix City, Alabama 36867. A Private Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
