

James Clifford” Paw Paw “ Dykes, 66, of Seale, Alabama, died Saturday July 9, 2011 at the Vista Care Health Facility at Franciscan Woods in Columbus, Georgia. Funeral services will be held11:00am EDT Tuesday July 12th in the chapel of
Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 3770 Highway 431 N, Phenix City, Alabama, 36867 with the Reverend Lance Isles officiating. Interment with military honors will be Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6pm until 8pm at the funeral home.
Mr. Dykes was born September 1, 1944 in Barbour County, Alabama, son of the late Curtis Dykes and LeeElla McLendon Dykes. He was an electrician with the Meade Corporation, coated board division, and served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Dykes was instrumental in the development of the Russell County Dixie Youth Baseball League. Other than his parents Mr. Dykes is preceded in death by two sisters. He dearly loved his family and his community.
Survivors include his children and their spouses, Christie Herrara and husband, Dennis, James Dykes and wife, Renee, Theresa Temples and husband, Randy, Robert Dykes and wife, Brandy, 11 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 2 expected great grandchildren,nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
