SFC James C. Milligan, 79, US Army (Ret) of Salem, AL died Sunday, July 15, 2012 at his home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 19, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. EST in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 3770 Hwy 431 N., Phenix City, AL. Interment with military honors will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
Mr. Milligan was born July 9, 1933 in Fayette, AL, son of the late Grady O. and Mattie Brashier Milligan. He served his country honorably in the US Army for more than 20 years including service in Korea and Vietnam and was a member of the Wilson Williams Masonic Lodge and the Phenix City Shriners. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Doyle Milligan and Raymond Milligan.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Dennis J. and Donna Milligan of Salem, AL, brother, Damond Milligan of Stafford, VA, granddaughters, Becky Milligan of Columbus, GA, Anna Milligan of Independence, MO, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
