Mrs. Powell was the daughter of the late Julian Smith and Dorothy Mae Giddens Smith. She was a homemaker and a devout Christian who loved reading her bible and loved her family.
Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Benjamin Powell and her son, Jody Powell.
Survivors include her daughter, Pam Astin (Alan), son, Keith Powell; grandchildren, Gary Mills (Meredith), Kaley Mills, Lauren Tharp, Jackson Allen (Jami), Jillian Baker (Dextin), several other grandchildren; sisters, Rosie, Cindy, Brenda, Faye and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be announced at a later date.
