Katy Jean Helms, 65 of Opelika, Alabama died Sunday November 17, 2013 at the Bethany House in Auburn, AL. Graveside funeral services will be held 1:00pm EST Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 3770 Hwy 431 N/280 W. Phenix City, AL. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00pm until 8:00pm EST at the funeral home.
Mrs. Helms was born August 30, 1948 in Meridian, Mississippi. She is the daughter of the late Robert Albert and Ethel Kelly Jones. Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Louie A. Helms and her grandson, Jared Nash.
Survivors include her daughter, Kelly Davis of Salem, AL, son, Bryan Davis of Seattle, WA, brother, Robert "Buddy" Jones of Corpus Christi, TX, grandchildren, Raymond Davis and Russell Davis.
