Kevin Dubois

Kevin Lyle DuBois, 66, passed away on February 5, 2026, in Columbus,Georgia. Born on August 11, 1959, in Oneonta, New York, Kevin lived a life marked by resilience, creativity, and a deep affection for both people and animals.

From a young age, Kevin displayed a natural athleticism and an adventurous spirit. He had a particular passion for gymnastics and remained active throughout his life. His love for music was equally enduring—he found joy in playing the guitar and often turned to music as a source of comfort and expression.

Kevin joined the United States Marine Corps as a young man, completing his basic training at Camp Lejeune. Though his military service concluded with a General discharge, it remained an important chapter in his life that reflected his willingness to serve and challenge himself.

A man of many talents and interests, Kevin had an innate curiosity about how things worked. He was especially drawn to mechanics and could often be found dismantling gadgets or engines just to rebuild them again—always eager to understand the inner workings of the world around him. This hands-on approach extended into all areas of his life; he was never one to shy away from getting involved or offering help when it was needed.

Though baptized Catholic in his youth, Kevin’s spirituality evolved over time. While he did not spend much time in formal religious settings, he carried with him a strong sense of connection to others and the world around him.

Kevin is survived by his loving siblings: sisters Corinne Vallejo, Marie DuBois, and Jacqui’ Burns; and brother Rene’ DuBois and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents Marshall DuBois Sr. and Delores DuBois; his brother Marshall DuBois Jr.; and nephews Chad DuBois and Joel Shumate.

Those who knew Kevin remember him as stubborn yet kind-hearted—a man who loved deeply and gave freely of himself. His affection for animals was well known among friends and family, as was his generous spirit. Whether through laughter shared over music or quiet moments spent tinkering with machines. Kevin left an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to know him.

He will be missed greatly by many. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
