Larry Lamar Buxton

Larry Lamar Buxton, 77 of Smiths Station, Alabama passed away Monday, March 23, 2026 at his home surrounded by his family. Visitation for family and friends will be held Wednesday, March 25, 2026 from 1:00 pm until 2:00pm EDT in Lakewood Hall at Striffler-Hamby in Phenix City, AL followed by a 2:00 pm graveside service at Lakeview Memory Gardens in Phenix City.

Mr. Buxton was born April 1, 1948 in Phenix City, Alabama; son of the late James J. Buxton and Sophronia Wilson Osborn. He was retired from Uniroyal and after retirement he spent another 30 year career managing the department for GP1 Automotive and Budget Truck and Car Sales. He was a member of the Phenix City Moose Lodge also the Board of Trustees Local 753 and was baptist by faith.

Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Johnny Sanders, and three sisters, Joyce Chancellor, Shirley Donegan and Peggy Varnadore.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Linda Moss Buxton, daughters, Karen Buxton (Mike), Kim Bennefield (Keith, Lynn Buxton, Tara Thaxton and his "bonus son", Robby Nobles (Wanda). He is also survived by nine grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, with one on the way and numerous nieces and nephews.
