Mrs. Knowles was born June 11, 1929 in Phenix City, Alabama; daughter of the late Sam and Alma Thornton Tillman. She attended catholic schools and was a homemaker. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Porter Knowles and her son, Lofton Knowles.
Survivors include her sons, Greg Glass, Steven Joel Knowles and wife Polly all of Phenix City, Al, granddaughter, Ginger Dempsey and husband Chuck of Cataula, GA, grandson, Nick Knowles of Phenix City, AL, sisters, Gloria Slaughter and husband Doc of Pittsview, AL, Barbara Moss of Dallas, TX and loving niece, Patricia Lee of Pensacola, FL.
