A visitation for family and friends for Margaret will be held Monday, June 17, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary - Phenix City, 3770 Highway 431 North, Phenix City, Alabama 36867. A celebration of life funeral service will occur Monday, June 17, 2024 at 11:00 AM, 3770 Highway 431 North, Phenix City, Alabama 36867. An interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens, 3800 Hwy 431 N., Phenix City, Alabama 36867.
Mrs. Palmer was born August 22, 1948 in Abbeville, Alabama; daughter of the late Arthur Bryant Vickers and Gladys Hodge Vickers. She was retired after 27 years from Kellogs and was a member of Beaver Creek Baptist Church.
Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Willie Jean Blankenship and her brother, Mickey Young Vickers.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Joseph D. Palmer of Phenix City, AL, son, Christopher Lee Palmer of Huntsville, AL, daughter, Staci Michelle Shores and husband, Jeff of Salem, AL, sisters, Lynn Stokes and husband, Randy of Fort Gaines, GA, Donna Sauls and husband, Wayne of Abbeville, AL and her brother, Arthur Vickers, Jr. of Echo, AL. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren, Raven Shores, Preston Palmer, Zowie Shores, Chloe Shores and her great grandchildren, Paisley Kyle, Delilah Shores and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Palmer loved to cook and was really good at it, loved to read and travel. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
