Margaret Patricia "Pat" Ritter Costello, 84 of Phenix City, Alabama went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, July 14, 2022. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. EST, Tuesday, July 19, 2022 in Lakewood Hall at Striffler-Hamby in Phenix City, AL with Dr. David White officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:00 P.M. until 1:00 P.M. prior to the service.
Mrs. Costello was born September 30, 1937 in Russell County, Alabama; daughter of the late Hermon and Georgia "Jimmye" Dawkins Ritter. She lived in Phenix City most of her life. Mrs. Costello retired from Cobb Hospital, Dietary Department. She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church in Phenix City.
Pat was a true Southern Lady that loved her family. She was a big Auburn fan. She enjoyed flower gardening and visits with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 26 years, Marvin "Chuck" Costello, her infant son, Richard McGraner and her daughter, Lynn East.
Survivors include her children, Sandy J. Williams, Jeff Zimmerman, Janie Costello, Rodney Costello, Lynn Baker and Chris Allen; brother, David Ritter and wife Martha; nieces, Gini Behar (Mike), Debbie Faison (Otis) all of Phenix City, AL, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
The family would like to extend appreciation to David and Lori White, Pat's special lifelong neighbors. She had a special bond with David since the day he was born. Thank you for taking such good care of Pat. She loved you both very much and appreciated all the food and goodies you shared with her for so many years.
