Margie "Polly" Short 66 of Smiths Station, Alabama passed away Friday, January 11, 2013 at East Alabama Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. EST Wednesday, January 16, 2013 in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 3770 Hwy 431/280 N., Phenix City, AL with Rev. Ray Cummings officiating. Buiral will follow in Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, January 13, 2013 from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Short was born January 10, 1947 in Pine Mountain, Georgia; daughter of the late Homer and Burnice Garrett Geter. She was retired from Georgia Power Company and a member of Golden Acres Baptist Church and former member of Beach Springs Baptist Church in Pine Mountain, GA.
Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Rudolph "Rudy" Short, her son and daughter-in-law, Jeremy Keith and Janice Dawn Short, three grandchildren, Tori Meagan Short, 16, Amber Nicole Storm Short, 11, Erik William Short, 7, all of Smiths Station, AL and many other relatives and friends.
