She was born December 15, 1921 in Russell County, Alabama to the late William A. Hodge and Lois Amelia McElhiney. She was the 3rd born of 5 siblings. She was predeceased by her husband, Woodrow Sharpe, Sr., the father of her 6 children. She was also predeceased by her second husband, James Bankston. She was predeceased by her daughter, Linda Joyce Sharpe on Tuesday, October 12, 2004 in Columbus, Georgia.
She is survived by 5 of her 6 children, Woodrow Sharpe, Jr., Eva Marie Vorgity, Sandra Kay King, William Larry Sharpe and Frankie Sue Sharpe.
She is survived by 16 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.
Mary was a beloved member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Viewing will be held at Striffler-Hamby, Phenix City, Alabama on Friday 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
A graveside service will be held at Lakeview Memory Gardens, Phenix City, Alabama on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
It is with heavy hearts that we will miss our MaMa and Granny.
