

Mary Savannah Cass, 88 of Smiths Station, AL passed away Wednesday at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, AL. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM EST, Saturday, January 1, 2010 in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 3770 Hwy 431 N., Phenix City, AL 36867 with Rev. Jeff Dravenstott officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Serving as pall bearers are Jacky Sanders, Adam Sanders, David Williams, Landon Williams, Barry Adams, Larry Adams, Jeremy Pickett and Danny Eastridge.
Mrs. Cass was born May 11, 1922 in Sylacauga, Alabama, daughter of the late John C. and Savannah Newman Brown. She was a member of Midway Baptist Church in Smiths Station, AL and was a homemaker. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Joseph Fred Cass.
Survivors include her daughters, Mary Joe Cass Williams, Marie Cass Adams and husband Larry, Dorothy Cass Singleton, Becky Cass Sanders and husband Jacky all of Smiths Station, AL, grandchildren, Susan Pickett, David Williams, Jennifer Hartman, Barry Adams, Jody Adams, Lisa Hood, Julie Eastridge, Adam Sanders, 11 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
