

A chapel Service will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday, May 31, 2012 in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 3770 Hwy 431 North, Phenix City, AL, 36867 with CLP Judy Hay officiating. Interment will follow at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Robert Nichols, Michael Taylor, Brandon Allen, Kirt Allen, David Wood, Charles Hall, Jon Paul, and DeAndre Morris.
Patrick was born October 25, 1989 in Columbus, GA. He served his country in Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. During his service he was awarded many commendations which include The Afghanistan Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, NATO Afghanistan Service Medal, Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, The Global War on Terrorism Medal, and the Combat Action Badge. Patrick worked for M & L Industrial Maintenance and was a member of Sherwood Presbyterian Church.
Patrick was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, James M. Monk, Sr., and Mary Lou Monk.
Survivors include his wife, Kira Aultman Monk of Phenix City, AL; his son, Raymond Kyle Monk of Phenix City, AL; His mother, Rebecca Monk and her fiancé, Joey Campbell of Eufaula, AL; his father, James M. Monk, Jr., and his wife, Beth of Phenix City, AL; maternal grandmother, Sharlet Schatz of Sacramento, CA; maternal grandfather, Curtis Boren and his wife, Marilyn of Dallas, GA; step-grandmother, Sara Putman; eight siblings, Marti Fleming and her husband, Robert, James Curtis Monk and his wife, Brandie, Tyler Anderson Monk, Christian Tyler Shelley, Kaleb Shelley, Kim Shelley, Jennifer Corbett and her husband, Chance, and Jesse Campbell; three nephews, Dylan Fleming, Landon Monk, and Colten Corbett; four nieces, Katelyn Fleming, Hanna Aultman, Savannah Aultman, and Alice Corbett;
