Paul Eugene Evans, 85 of Alexander City, Alabama died Thursday, January 15, 2015 at the Bill Nichols Veterans home. A memorial service will be held 11:30 AM EST Monday January 26, 2015 in Lakewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby, Phenix City, AL. Burial with military honors will follow at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery.
Mr. Evans was born May 13, 1929 in Washington County, Florida; son of the late James Paul and Era Paulk Evans. He was retired from Eastern Airlines, served in the U.S. Air Force, served with the Florida Highway Patrol Auxillary for 34 years and was a member of Golden Acres Baptist Church. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Simmons Evans.
Survivors include his son, Philip Lamar Evans and wife Leslie of Aluchua, FL, daughter, Brenda Sharon Yager and husband Mike of Canfield, OH, brother, Dearl Evans, sister, Laqueta Spencer and four grandchildren.
