Raymond Lee Quillen, age 88, of Phenix City, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, September 13, 2023. Raymond was born in Friendsville, Tennessee; son of the late Ernest Raymond Quillen and Georgia Lee Parks Quillen.
Mr. Quillen served in the US Navy, was retired from US Steel, 210 Plate Mill in Gary, Indiana after 20 years of employment and was a member of Golden Acres Baptist Church in Phenix City.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Margaret Jewell Moody, grandson, John Raymond Heiser and several brothers.
Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Alma Quillen, daughters, Janet Dame (Bill), Kathy Jones (Harold), Jackie Struble and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A celebration of life memorial service with military honors for Raymond will be held Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary - Phenix City, 3770 Highway 431 North, Phenix City, Alabama 36867 with Dr. Johnny Ellison officiating. Following the celebration of life memorial service will be a gathering for family and friends at Golden Acres Baptist Church, Phenix City, Alabama.
