A visitation for family and friends will be held at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary - Phenix City, in Lakewood Hall, located at 3770 Highway 431 North, Phenix City, Alabama, 36867. The visitation is scheduled for October 11, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.
A Celebration of Life Graveside Funeral Service will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens, 3800 Hwy 431 North, Phenix City, Alabama, 36867, beginning at 1:00 pm on October 11, 2025, with Pastor Ralph Henderson officiating.
Rev. Williams began his ministry in South Carolina and then became a missionary in the Dominican Republic. After returning to the states, he pastored in Tampa, Florida and pastored 25 years for Lakewood Baptist Church in Phenix City from which he retired and later he was called to pastor at the First Baptist Church in Lumpkin, Georgia.
Rev. Williams was the son of the late Gerald and Deena Jennings Williams. Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by his great- grandson, Nathanael Zachary Williams and sister-in-law, Judy Williams.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Bonnie Mulligan Williams, children, Gary Wayne Williams (Elizabeth), John David Williams (Zoe Ann) all of Crawford, AL; brothers, Wendell Williams of Anchorage, AK, Burton Williams (Susan) of Wilcott, CT, three grandchildren, Justin Williams (Barak), Amber Williams (Braxton), Hannah Sullivan (Seth) ; great grandchildren, Abe, Zeke, Lydia and Silas.
