Richard Gary McDaniel

Richard Gary McDaniel, 85 of Phenix City, Alabama passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2022 in Columbus, Georgia. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, September 9, 2022 at Lakeview Memory Gardens according to Striffler-Hamby in Phenix City, Alabama.

Mr. McDaniel was born June 17, 1937 in Phenix City, Alabama; son of the late John Sydney McDaniel and Mildred Lucille Sanders Gaffney. He was retired from Flav-O-Rich Dairies and was a member of Crawford Road Baptist Church in Phenix City, AL.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Charles McDaniel and his sister, Peggy Thompson.

Mr. McDaniel loved music and dancing, talking to people, as he never met a stranger, but most of all he loved spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Peggy Dianne Thompson McDaniel, daughters, Rhea Stringfellow, Robin Davis, sons, Jeff McDaniel (Deb), Scott McDaniel (Sharon) and was blessed with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great- great grandchildren.
