Richard Scott McDonald, 50 of Phenix City, Alabama passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at St. Francis Hospital. Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. Sunday Sept. 1, 2013 in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Phenix City, AL with Rev. Boyd Cochran officiating. A private interment will be held at a later date. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Mr. McDonald was born January 4, 1963 in Hamilton, Georgia. He is the son of the late Lelvin McDonald and Golden Starling McDonald of Salem, AL. He served in the U.S. Army and was protestant by faith.
Other than his mother, he is survived by his wife, Beverly Hutchins McDonald, children Scott Wilder McDonald, James Hunter McDonald, sisters, Evelyn Goodson, Joyce Chocklett, Sandra Burt, brothers, Wallace McDonald, Wayne McDonald, Kenneth McDonald, John McDonald, David McDonald, mother-in-law, Sandra Hutchins, brothers-in-law, Jimmy Hutchins and Jerry Hutchins, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
