Samuel Edward Hussey

Samuel Edward "Sam" Hussey, 88 of Phenix City, Alabama passed away Wednesday March 12, 2014 at his home. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday March 15, 2014 in Lakewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby, Phenix City with Rev. Brad McDaniel officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Mr. Hussey was born August 31, 1925 in Coffee County, Alabama. He is the son of the late John and Emma Lee Wilkes Hussey. He was an avid golfer, fisherman and co-founder of the Dixie Seniorss. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Rickey Davis, two sisters and one brother.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Eloise Jackson Hussey of Phenix City, AL, son, Roger Hussey (Deborah) of Dothan, AL, daughters, Lisa F. Blalock (Glen) of Nashville, TN, Judith A. Wrenn (Jack) of Birmingham, AL, grandchildren, Victoria Blalock of Nashville, TN, David Hussey of Atlanta, GA, Scott Housch of San Diego, CA, Jennifer Blalock Smith (Barry) of Phenix City, AL, Jessica Blalock of Smiths, AL and six great grandchildren.
