William “Bill” Alva Meade Jr., age 58, of Fort Mitchell, Alabama, passed away on Monday, September 1, 2025, at the Bill Nichols State Veterans Home in Alexander City, Alabama.
A graveside service with military honors will be held on Friday, September 5, 2025, from 2:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery, 553 AL-165, Fort Mitchell, Alabama.
Born on November 26, 1966, in Fort Sill, Oklahoma, Bill was the son of William Alva Meade Sr. and the late Wanita Taylor Meade. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, achieving the rank of Sergeant and completing tours in Somalia, the Republic of Korea, and Kuwait/Saudi Arabia. Following his military service, Bill built a career as a truck driver and became the owner and operator of Meade Trucking.
Beyond his work, Bill was a man who deeply valued family and simple joys. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, fishing on quiet afternoons, and taking to the open road on his Harley Davidson motorcycle. These passions brought him his greatest happiness and will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
Bill is survived by his father, William Alva Meade Sr.; his brother, Larry Meade; his children, Christopher Meade (Amanda), Justin Meade (Alesha), and Amanda Elliott (Trevor); and his cherished grandchildren, Brayden, McKenzie, Rylee, Emerie, Lily, and Vivien. He is also survived by special extended family, Errol and Dree Kama, and their children, Anna, Adelaide, and Evangeline.
Bill will be remembered as a proud veteran, a hardworking man, and a loving father and grandfather whose legacy lives on in those he loved most.
