William David Ritter

David is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Martha Atkinson Ritter, his two daughters; Debbie Faison (Otis) and Gini Behar (Mike), his precious grandson, ("Buddy/Bird") D.J. Stokes (Tamara) and two great granddaughters, Melody Rose Stokes and Harmony Faye Stokes. David is also survived by his first cousin, who was like his little brother, Michael Bailey (Gwen) and their sons, Dwayne (Susan) who will officiate the service and Darian (Bonnie), along with nephews Jeff Zimmerman, Greg Smith (Candi) and Joel Smith also numerous cousins and other extended family members.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Hermon David Ritter and Georgia Jim "Jimmye" Dawkins Ritter and his sister Patricia Costello.

David attended Alabama Polytechnic Institute (Auburn University) where he studied Mechanical Engineering. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and he retired from Mead Coated Board Paper Mill in 2003.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. in the Lakewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Phenix City, AL. A visitation for family and friends will be 30 minutes prior to the service.
