

Albert Lloyd (Al) Fountain joined his family and friends in heaven on Saturday, September 24, 2011 surrounded by family. He was 87 years old. One of ten siblings, Al was born in Opal, Arkansas on January 23, 1924 to Jesse L. and Grace Fountain. He served in Conservation Corps and during WWII in the Navy. In 1946, he married the love of his life, Estelle (Davis). Al worked for the A-1 Brewing Company and served as a Teamster. He was a longtime resident of South Phoenix. He loved cold beer, fishing and hunting, the great outdoors and spending time at his Prescott home. He was a great gardener and excellent cook and loved to share meals with family and friends. Al was a father, uncle, grandpa and friend to everyone who knew him. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Estelle; son Jim (Donna); daughter Janice (Jim) Tucker; sisters Octie (Don) Hickman, Edna (Ken) Raub; and brother George (Helen) Fountain; grandchildren Jeremy (Ehrin) Fountain, Jennifer (Jason) Uhrinyak, Timothy (Margaret) Fountain, Michael (Samantha) Tucker, and Jeffery (Susan) Fountain; and nine great-grandchildren: Jordyn, Lauren, Tyler, Justin, Anna, Julia, Brandon, Morgan and Liam. Services will be held on Saturday October 1, 2011 at 11:00 am at St. Matthew United Methodist Church, 2540 W. Baseline Rd. in Mesa, AZ. Family and friends will gather following the service at Jennifer’s home. Interment will be held privately. The family asks that donations be made to Hospice of the Valley.
