She was born on September 24, 1938, in Colorado City, Texas, to Lipscomb N. Martin and Myrtle L. (Searcy) Martin.
She is survived by her daughter, Gale Bourque (Wayne), and sons, James H. Klaus Jr. and Brian J. Klaus (Claudia); her beloved grandchildren, Jessica Klaus, Shayne and Courtney Bourque; and great-grandchildren, Aiden and Dylan Bratton.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, James H. Klaus Sr.; her parents; and her brothers, Orville (Lynn), Glen, Coy, and Truman Martin.
Doris had a deep love for all animals, especially her little Yorkie, Abby, and her African Grey parrot, Tongo. She was also a dedicated football fan and cheered proudly for the Arizona Cardinals and ASU Sun Devils.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the animal shelter of your choice in her honor.
Services will be held at Resthaven/Carr-Tenney Mortuary & Memorial Gardens, 4310 E Southern Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85042 on Friday, April 25, 2025.
