John was a Phoenix native born to Alberto and Elvira Cruz. He learned the family trade of masonry and was an expert in his field until he retired. John is best known for bringing joy to the lives around him through his singing and playing his guitar. He was the life of all the parties and had a way of making everyone feel like they were the most important person in the world, whether you were his family, a friend, or a stranger. The world will be a dimmer place without John’s smile to light it up. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
John is survived by his wife of 55 years, Carmen, his sister, Rosie, and his three daughters, Veronica, Anita, and Gloria, his grandchildren, Adam, Caitlyn, Athena, DeMarco, Giovanni, Tatum, Venezia, Manuel Jr., Kameron, Danilee, Isabella, Eidan, and eight great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, five brothers, seven sisters, and his grandson, Sean.
A memorial service will be held in his honor September 5th, 2024, at 4310 E Southern Ave, Phoenix, AZ. The viewing begins at 9:30 AM with services to follow at 10:30 AM.
