When life began, it’s like an open book with many blank pages. Each day as we live, our deeds are recorded page by page until we close our eyes in death, and await that great Getting’ up morning. The pages of this book began for Josephine Jones Pitts on October 14, 1933 when she was born to Mr. Joe Jones and Mrs. Lillie Alexander Jones in Frederick, Oklahoma.
Josephine attended Frederick Public Schools Systems. Later on in life, she met, then married Robert Roscoe Pitts on October 26, 1965 in Frederick, Oklahoma, and to that union two children were born. Shortly thereafter, they moved their family to Lubbock, Texas.
Josephine worked for Texas Tech University as a Supervisor with the Department of Environmental Health and Safety for over 25 years. She received many awards and certificates during her years of service. After retiring, she returned to Frederick, Oklahoma in 1992 to take care of her parents. In 2005, Josephine moved to Phoenix, AZ to be close to her daughter, Sandra, and grandchildren. Josephine attended Antioch, COGIC under the leadership of Superintendent, Dr. Jonathan Logan.
