

Khaleef was born February 25, 1966, in Phoenix, AZ at Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born and raised in the Nation of Islam and attended the Muhammad University of Islam until the 3rd Grade. Khaleef then attended Rosa Linda Elementary School and played soccer which he loved. Khaleef went to South Mountain High from 1979 to 1984 as a South Mountain Rebel (REBS). He became a member of the Sophisticated Gents in 1982 and through parties and events with legendary production groups (Polo Mobile, Black Tie, New Born Productions and many more). He was also on SMHS Wrestling team with Coach Tribble. He graduated from South Mountain High School in 1984.
He held his first job as a paper route boy and lifeguard at the Salvation Army. He worked at Pickle Deli with his brother Sayeed, and cousin Jamal. Khaleef is one of the founding members the Sophisticated Gents Player’s Ball, Stop the Violence Peace Fest, Peace Tour/Block Parties and Peace Walks. Khaleef became Executive Producer of Fo’Life Records/Slave Ent. in 1995. His artist “Survivalist” hit single “Bounce”, produced by his cousin Salih Williams, went to number 5 on the billboard charts. Khaleef met Latonya Adkins in 1995. They fell in love and married on June 20th, 2009. Together 27 years and married for 12 years, they produced two beautiful sons, Shamarie and Shekhi. Latonya’s two daughters became Khaleef’s beloved daughters.
Khaleef helped in advocating peace in our community with his works. He had a passion for restoring and building custom classic/custom new cars with his brother Sayeed by his side. Which helped him be a part of Game Automotives with Kenyatta Goins and his brother Sayeed. In his new endeavor, he was in the process of pursuing his CDL certification and was going to drive his father’s Peterbilt truck in that effort. Khaleef and his brother Sayeed were working on starting a new Car Club and other business ventures.
Khaleef, affectionately known as Lee, was preceded in death by his youngest brother Joel Alif. He is survived by his wife LaTonya, parents; Joel and Joyce Muhammad, three sisters, Hallema (Stanley), Dorrana (Therman) and Khadijah (Rod), two brothers, Sayeed, and Hamza (Reyna) all of Phoenix. Survived by seven children; Shamarie, Shekhi, Khaleef Jr., Nasir, Ameerah, Komari, Khamora. Beloved step daughters; Shaquanna and Tyshaela (Jamie). He is survived by ten grandchildren: Khaylee, Khalynn, Khyree, Julian, Andrea, A’Miracle, Zae, Darrian, Ayden, and Kasen. He has a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that will miss him. He will be remembered by the works and charities in helping so many family and friends.
Khaleef will be laid to rest in Resthaven / Carr-Tenney Mortuary & Memorial Gardens, 4310 East Southern Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85042-4042.
