The Lord called Luella E. Woolridge home on August 25, 2013. She was born on September 24, 1924 to Ollie Mae and Joseph Elias. Luella received Christ at a very young age. She attended Douglas High School. Her Mother nicknamed her Lizzie and this is what her close family and friends called her. Lizzie won numerous spelling bees in school. Luella could remember every relative and close friend’s birthday. She memorized phone numbers never relying on telephone books or cell phone contact lists. She was hard working, thrifty, and generous. She was always willing to share what she had with others. She could make new acquaintances feel like old friends. Luella married CJ Nero and moved to Arizona in 1943. Later she married Alfred D. Woolridge. She worked as a nurse at St Joseph Hospital over 20 years. Luella attended New Life Christian Fellowship and read her bible daily. Today we have paused to pay tribute to Luella E. Woolridge. She had a love for cooking, craft, gardening sewing, poetry and especially people. She has earned the respect of many for her love and selflessness in helping her relatives, friends and others wherever and whenever needed. Preceding her in death were her siblings: Eugene, Elsie Mae, Willard, Thelma, grandsons: Deron Mosley, Curtis Brown and her special friend, Sylvester. Luella raised 6 children and leaves to cherish her memory Edna (&Brown), John E. Nero, Ollie C. Nero, Alfreda M. Woolridge, Alfred Danny Woolridge Jr., Bethlyn Mosley (&Gary) and her sisters Faye, Johnnie, Nona, as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
