Rex Joseph Fullen, 57, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away on March 8, 2026, in Tucson. Born on September 24, 1968, in Casa Grande, Arizona, Rex was the beloved son of Earl and Mary Fullen who both preceded him in death.
Rex graduated from Casa Grande Union High School and attended Central Arizona College, where he played baseball, a sign early on of his lifelong love for sports and competition. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army for four years, stationed out of Fort Huachuca, Arizona. He earned the Army Commendation, Army Good Conduct and the National Defense Service Medals. He later worked for many years as a Maintenance Supervisor and recently achieved a longtime goal by completing his CDL license.
Rex leaves behind his wife, Roxanne Fullen, and their cherished daughter Ella, who brought endless joy to his life. He will also be lovingly remembered by his former wife Christina Cook and their daughters Dallas Burgi (Brady) and Isabella Blea (Isaiah), as well as his sweet granddaughter Lacy. His former wife Melissa Padilla and their sons Rex (RJ) Fullen, Jr., and Ashton Fullen will forever hold memories of his humor, and unconditional love.
Rex loved his children and granddaughter deeply, whole-heartedly and unconditionally; they were the greatest joy of his life.
Rex’s sister Aiessa Flores (Jess), brother John Fullen (Dolores), and nephew Gaston Fullen will carry on countless memories of laughter, storytelling, and family joking sessions that Rex always commanded so effortlessly.
A natural athlete, Rex excelled at baseball, softball, football, golf, volleyball, bowling, billiards—well, just about anything involving friendly competition. A lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan, Rex claimed his spot as the team’s most spirited supporter (and occasional armchair coach). His greatest family role, though, was as “Sancho Claus”, bringing gifts, laughter, and mischievous holiday spirit to every Christmas gathering. Known for keeping everyone entertained on long road trips with his jokes and stories, Rex was truly the life of every party and loved by all who knew him.
Rex’s laughter, loyalty, and generous heart will be remembered always—and his Sancho Claus memories will forever live on in the smiles of those lucky enough to have shared life with him.
A celebration of Rex’s life will be held on April 4, 2026, at 10 a.m. at Resthaven/Carr-Tenney Mortuary & Memorial Gardens, 4310 East Southern Avenue, Phoenix, Arizona. In true Rex fashion, guests are encouraged to wear their favorite Dallas Cowboys attire or colors in his honor.
