Rudolph Valentino Hunter was born March 27, 1929 in Crockett Texas to the union of Dallas Hunter, Sr. and Bertha Hunter. He was the eldest of 10 children born to this union; his parents and 2 siblings preceded him in death.
Rudolph was known by many, as Rudy. He would like to say many times when asked, “what is your name” he’d say, Rudolph (the red nose rein-deer).
Rudolph moved to Eloy, Arizona in 1945 at the age of 16 years old, with his parents and siblings, and then on to Phoenix, Arizona.
Rudolph was a hard worker, never ran from hard work. He was a tire repairman with Montgomery Wards for many years; and held several other jobs during his lifetime. His last job from which he retired from in June of 2002 was as a long distance truck driver, driving from coast to coast. There was no state too far that he wouldn’t drive. The farther the drive, the better he liked it. He was blessed to see many states in being a long distance truck driver. During his earlier times, he enjoyed raising animals, namely chickens, rabbits, pigeons, his dogs, and we cannot forget the pigs and hogs that he raised. No doubt, some are sitting here today who had the pleasure of going to the hog pin with Mr. Rudolph.
Rudolph left a lasting impression to all whom he came in contact with.
From a previous marriage to Lucy Hunter (who preceded him in death) nine children were born, in which two preceded him in death.
Rudolph leaves to cherish his memories his wife Kim Brown-Hunter; his children, daughters: Mary Lynn Stewart, Gwenda Faye Dryer, Loraine Hunter, all of Phoenix, Arizona, Linda Darnell Jones of Memphis Tennessee and Carolyn Eloise Johnson of Dallas, Texas; sons: Edward Louis Montgomery, Archie Dale Hunter, Brian Hunter and Kasheon Deonta Hunter, all of Phoenix Arizona; his sisters: Arnie Lee Mitchell, Clarice Hunter, Beverly Jean Hunter, Debory Hunter, all of Phoenix, AZ; his brothers: Albert Hunter of Seattle Washington, Bobbie D. Hunter of Stockton California and Edgar Hunter of Phoenix, Arizona. His grandchildren, great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends
