He was a devoted father to seven children and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Tom was also gifted in the skill of welding and for 28 years, from 1969 through 1987, was a certified welder; painstakingly retiring early due to a back injury. He loved dancing at the American Legion, having a quick lunch at Pete’s Fish n’ Chips and Carolina’s Mexican Food, and creating lasting memories with his family.
He is survived by his seven children: Tommy Garcia, Sonny Garcia, Donny Garcia, Connie Chavez, Vonnie Garcia, Ronny Garcia, and Angel Garcia. He also leaves behind 24 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Vidalia Maria Garcia; his father, Tomas Garcia Sr.; and his siblings: Pete Moreno, Soila Naranjo, Marcelo Moreno, Henry Garcia, Frances Moita, Lorraine Sanchez, and Ray Garcia.
The Visitation Service will be held at Resthaven/Carr-Tenney Mortuary, 4310 E. Southern Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85042, on Sunday, March 7th, 2021 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The Funeral service will be held at the same location on Monday, March 8th, 2021 at 11:00 am. Immediately following the service, he will be laid to rest at St. Francis Cemetery, 2033 N. 48th St, Phoenix, AZ 85008.
