Windlon McFarland (Wendy) was born October 3, 1945 to Ervin Hale and Lizzie May Hayes, (both deceased). She married Roy McFarland in 1967, and they remained married until he passed. They both loved to gamble and would travel to Las Vegas quite frequently.
Wendy joined Victory Missionary Baptist Church and was a faithful member of the church under the leadership of Pastor H. B. Randle. She sang in the Senior Choir and was a loyal member for more than 30 years.
Wendy worked for Eldorado Apartments in Scottsdale, Arizona for 15 years. She also worked for Tempe School District as a Cafeteria Helper and retired from there.
After Wendy’s husband died, her sister-in-law, Patsy White, became her best friend. They went everywhere together. Patsy drove her to Doctor’s appointments, assisted her with important paperwork, and assisted Wendy with anything that needed to be done. Patsy signed her and Wendy up for the CROC Center Gym (Former Salvation Army) for exercising. They often took walks together at the parks on a regular basis.
Patsy became ill after her husband passed away and she was unable to help Wendy and be there for her like she had done in the past. IN WALKED SAMMY HALE, her favorite and wonderful nephew whom she adored. Sammy was really an angel in his aunt’s life. Sammy became Wendy’s Caregiver and took excellent care of her. He made sure she was fed, took her to doctor’s appointments. He was always checking on her to make sure she was ok and had everything she needed. All Wendy had to do was call Sammy and he would be there, within a few minutes.
Wendy is preceded in death by her husband, Roy McFarland, Ronnie Hale (brother), Clarence Hale (brother), Robert Hale (brother).
Wendy leaves to mourn her brother Cloude Hale (Yuma Arizona), sister Icola Deleoney (Seattle, Washington), and the following nieces and nephews: Sammy Hale, Victor Deleoney, Vince Deleoney, Ervin F. Hale Ervin Hale, Robert Spellman, Dion Edward Spellman, Carolyn O’Connor, Connie Powell, Lizzie May Deleoney, Tammy Hale, Diane Hale, Barbara Hale, Valerie Hagler-LaMar, Vida Mosley, and Sherrie White.
