

Marjorie Marie (Toni) Clarey Cox, 89, of Vista, CA passed away on March 23, 2013 in Oceanside, CA. Services will be held at St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church 609 Pier View Way, Oceanside, CA on Wednesday April 3rd Rosary 930am, Funeral 10am, Celebration of Life follows in the hall. Burial will be at All Souls Cemetary 4400 Cherry Ave, Long Beach, CA on Friday April 5th at 1pm. Marjorie was born in Fairmount, North Dakota to William and Mary Clarey on June 30, 1923. She went to St. Mary's School in Bismarck, North Dakota for all grades, graduating in 1942. She went on to earn a Certificate as a Trained Attendant in February of 1946, a one year nursing program developed during World War II, at Seaside Hospital in Long Beach, CA. She volunteered for many years at Our Lady of the Rosary Elementary School in Paramount, CA as The Ice Cream Lady then went on to work in the cafeteria at St. Pius X High School in Downey, CA. Her 3 youngest children attended these schools. She is survived by 5 of her children: Kathy (Bill) Harrod of Vista, CA, Chuck (Sheri) Cox of Leander, TX, Bill (Teri) Cox of Oceanside, CA, Shirley (Allan) Harrod of Hawthorne, CA, Sharon Belleu of Terre Haute, IN and son-in-law Doug Campbell of San Bernardino, CA. Her sister Madonna Buck of Glendale, AZ. Nieces, nephews and over 100 grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband James W. Cox, parents William and Mary Clarey, sister Pat Dimas, baby Margaret Ann Cox, baby son Michael John Cox, oldest daughter Patty Campbell and oldest son Rick Cox. She moved from North Dakota to Long Beach, CA in 1941. After becoming the proud wife of a United States Marine she moved from Camp Pendleton to the El Toro area, spending 6 years in La Mirada, moving to Paramount in 1969, to Hollydale in 1980, to San Bernadino in 2003 and finally to Vista in 2012. She spent 9 months at Arcadia Place Retirement Living and enjoyed all the activities there, playing cards, bingo, horse racing, watercoloring, volunteered in the dining room. She will be deeply missed by everyone that knew her and forever loved by all those lives she touched with her Irish Catholic heart.
