Clifton was the kind of man who loved deeply and fully. He was a devoted husband, a proud father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and a cherished brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. He felt most at home outdoors, especially when fishing with nets or crawfishing, enjoying the quiet moments and simple joys those days brought him. Not long ago, Clifton found a special companion in Lucy, his Australian Shepherd, who quickly became his pride and joy and never failed to bring a smile to his face. More than anything, Clifton treasured time spent with his family laughing together at cookouts, sharing seafood boils, and making memories that will live on in the hearts of all who loved him. Clifton was a jack of all trades who could fix, build, or figure out just about anything he set his mind to. He never shied away from a challenge and was always willing to lend a helping hand, sharing his skills and knowledge with those around him. Whether it was a big project or a small repair, Clifton took pride in doing things the right way and helping others along the way.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of sixty years, Lorena Adams Blanchard; three children, Julie Landry (Kurt), Johnny Blanchard (Amanda) and Pam Verrett (Mitch); four grandchildren, Drake Verrett, Gracie Verrett, Mary-Beth Blanchard and Joshua Blanchard; two great grandchildren, Auldyn and Gray Verrett; three siblings, Karen Gros, Shirley Matherne and Warren Blanchard Sr. and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Clifton Sr. and Levie Mabile Blanchard and his sisters, Mabel Leonard, Mary Jane Kirkland and Agnes Lambert.
A visitation will be held at Ourso Funeral Home in Pierre Part, LA, on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, from 8:30am until Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church at 12pm. Interment to follow in Sacred Heart Mausoleum in Belle River, LA.
