Mrs. Jane Clement

Died unexpectedly on June 7, 2010 at 3:19 p.m. at her home in Bayou Pigeon. She was 73, born January 27, 1937 in Pierre Part. She is survived by her husband of 54 ½ years, Edward G. Clement of Bayou Pigeon; sons and daughter-in-law Kent and Debra B. Clement, Karl Clement, Bert Clement all of Bayou Pigeon; daughters and son-in-law Christina C. “Tina” and Glenn Landry of Pierre Part, Rebecca “Becky” Clement and Katherine “Katie” Clement both of Bayou Pigeon; grandchildren Brooklynn Devillier, Travis, Jonathan and Zackary Clement all of Bayou Pigeon,Charlee Clement and fiancé Jason Prejean of Brusly St. Martin,Christine and Mitchel Landry, Kandace and Irvin Breaux, Rainey and Alan Ramlochan all of Pierre Part, Ginger and Jarred Breaux of Bayou Corne, Karl (KC) Jr. and Amélie Clement of Florence, Oregon; great grandchildren Joshua Breaux, Ean Landry, Baili George, Marlee and Camden Breaux; brothers and sister-in-law Lloyd Matherne, Leroy and Bessie Matherne; sisters Verniese M. Theriot, Ruth M. Daigle, Pearl M. Ross, Melva M. Simoneaux; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Annie C. Leonard, G. “Cherry” C. Settoon, Anna May C. Cedotal, Jane C. and Lloyd Aucoin, C. I. and Bernice Clement, Alcide Clement, Allen and Janet Gaudet. Jane graduated from Assumption High in 1955. After raising six children she took a job with the Council on Aging. She was given a Certificate of Appreciation in recognition of over 10 years of devoted and invaluable service to the elderly. She looked forward to her weekly Pokeno game with her friends at St. Joan of Arc in Bayou Pigeon. She was preceded in death by her parents Paul and Christine Breaux Matherne; sisters, brother, sister-in-law, and brothers-in-law: Percy and Annette B. Matherne, Virgie Z. Matherne, May M. and Tony Rogacki, Audrey M. and Johnson Hedges, Emmett Ross, Whelman “Tut” Daigle, Authur “Jr.” Simoneaux, Ned Theriot, Nolan Cedotal and Alex Settoon.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at Ourso Funeral Home in Pierre Part from 8:00 a.m.-11:45 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Pierre Part at 12:00 p.m. Entombment will follow in church mausoleum. Officiating will be Fr. Clarence Waguespack.
