Nelson Joseph Coupel

He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, but especially spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Debra Toups Coupel; two daughters, Suzette and Charlene Coupel; four sons, Ernell Coupel, Melvin Toups, Nelson Coupel, Jr., Jake Coupel and Brent Coupel (Darranika); three sisters, Gertrude Templet, Eura Mae Prestenbach and Janet Myers; two brothers, Roland (Marilyn) and Melvin Coupel (Rosanna); twelve grandchildren, Ernecia, Alajah, Ernell, Mykell, Ma'Kaley, Caiya, Kylie, Kaizer, Brent, Jr., Briella, Nehemiah, Cage, Teriza, Harrison, and Waralyn; seven great-grandchildren, along with a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Neilda and Edgar Coupel, Jr.; five sisters, Gladys Morales, Shirley Theriot, Baby Rae, Dorothy Berthelot and Lois Metrejean; and one brother, Gerald Coupel.

The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Our Lady of the Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette for their care and compassion.
